FAQs
Paint Protection Film (PPF) FAQ
A: PPF is a virtually invisible polyurethane film applied to your vehicle’s painted surfaces to protect them from rock chips, scratches, swirl marks, and contaminants like road salt and bird droppings. It also has self-healing properties that help maintain a flawless finish.
A: The most common high-impact areas to protect with PPF are the front bumper, full hood, full fenders, headlights, and mirrors. These areas take the majority of rock chips and road debris, which is why a full front package is the most popular option.
A: Yes. High-quality paint protection film can safely be applied to headlights to help prevent chips, pitting, and UV wear. When installed correctly, it does not noticeably affect brightness or clarity.
A: Premium films like LLumar and SunTek last between 5 to 10 years depending on environmental conditions, maintenance, and how often the vehicle is washed.
A: Yes, it can be professionally removed without damaging the paint, especially if installed correctly and not left on past its lifespan.
A: When removed correctly by a professional using controlled heat, quality PPF should peel off cleanly without damaging OEM paint. Any remaining adhesive residue can be safely removed during the process.
A: Premium modern PPF is optically clear and does not change the color of your paint. Gloss PPF can enhance shine, while matte PPF creates a smooth satin finish without the need to repaint.
A: Yes, PPF can be applied to repainted vehicles as long as the paint has fully cured. Most body shops recommend waiting 30 to 60 days after a repaint before installing film, depending on the paint system and curing process.
A: Yes. PPF can be ceramic coated for extra gloss, slickness, and easier maintenance. Ceramic coating does not replace PPF, but works as a great add-on to enhance appearance and make the film easier to clean.
A: PPF protects against chips, scratches, and light abrasions, but it cannot prevent dents from other car doors or heavy impacts. It may reduce paint damage in minor contact, but it will not stop the metal from denting.
A: Minor swirl marks and light scratches often self-heal with heat from the sun or warm water. If a section of PPF is torn or deeply damaged, that panel of film can be removed and replaced without redoing the entire vehicle.
A: It is recommended to wait about 5 to 7 days before washing your car after PPF installation. This allows the film to fully settle, moisture to evaporate, and adhesion to cure properly.
A: PPF does not require special maintenance, but it benefits from regular hand washing, pH-neutral soap, avoiding harsh chemicals or brushes, and occasionally using a sealant or ceramic topper. Proper care helps the film look better and last longer.
A: Yes, PPF can be applied over quality vinyl decals or graphics to protect them from chips and fading. However, once PPF is installed over vinyl, the vinyl cannot be removed without also removing the film.
A: No. PPF is transparent and will not hide swirls, scratches, rock chips, or sanding marks. For the best result, paint correction is recommended before installing PPF on glossy vehicles so the finish underneath looks as clean as possible.
A: Modern TPU-based PPF from reputable brands is designed to resist yellowing, shrinking, and cracking when properly maintained. Using a high-quality film and following care guidelines helps keep the film clear and stable throughout its lifespan.
A: Installation time depends on the coverage and vehicle. A typical full front package takes about one day, extended or track packages can take one to two days, and full vehicle PPF usually takes three to five days.
Ceramic Coating FAQ
A: It's a liquid polymer that chemically bonds with your vehicle’s clear coat to create a long-lasting protective layer. It enhances gloss, repels water, and protects against oxidation, UV rays, and chemical stains.
A: Ceramic coatings last years, not weeks. They are more durable, hydrophobic, and resistant to environmental damage than traditional wax or sealants.
A: We offer coatings that last from 1 year to 7+ years depending on the product and maintenance plan.
A: It can resist minor swirls and scratches but won’t stop rock chips or deep gouges. That’s where PPF comes in.
A: Yes, but less often and with less effort. Contaminants don’t stick as easily, and your car will look cleaner between washes.
A: Absolutely. We offer full-vehicle protection, including high-temp coatings for wheels and brake calipers, hydrophobic coatings for glass, and stain-repellent coatings for leather, plastic, and fabric interiors.
Window Tinting FAQ
A: We offer dyed, carbon, and ceramic tint options. Ceramic is the highest performing, blocking up to 99% of harmful UV rays and significantly reducing interior heat.
A: Yes, we follow California tint regulations. For front side windows, we offer legal ceramic tints that allow visible light in while blocking heat and UV.
A: No. Our ceramic films are non-metallic and won’t interfere with GPS, mobile signals, or keyless entry.
A: Typically 2 to 4 hours depending on the vehicle and number of windows being tinted.
A: Yes. All of our films include a lifetime warranty covering bubbling, fading, or peeling.
A: You should wait 3–5 days before rolling down windows or washing the vehicle to allow the film to cure fully.
Vinyl Wrap FAQ
A: It’s a customizable adhesive film applied over the vehicle’s surface to change its appearance. Wraps come in various finishes—gloss, matte, satin, chrome, carbon fiber—and can also be used for graphics or branding.
A: Yes, the wrap can be removed by a professional without damaging the original paint (assuming the paint is in good condition).
A: A quality wrap can last 3 to 5 years depending on care, exposure to the elements, and film quality.
A: Yes! We offer partial wraps, accents (roof, hood, mirrors), stripes, and custom designs.
A: Hand washing is best. Avoid pressure washing edges and don’t use wax or polish unless approved for vinyl.
A: Yes, wraps offer a degree of protection against UV rays, minor abrasions, and weather. However, they are not as impact-resistant as PPF.
Detailing FAQ
A: Our full detail package includes exterior wash, clay bar, paint decontamination, polish, wax/sealant, engine bay cleaning, interior vacuuming, steam cleaning, leather conditioning, and window cleaning.
A: We recommend a full detail every 4–6 months. Regular maintenance washes every 2–4 weeks help preserve results.
A: Detailing is much more thorough and includes paint correction, deep cleaning, and protection services that go beyond a basic wash.
A: We offer paint correction services that can remove or reduce light to moderate swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation.
A: At this time, we focus on in-shop services to maintain quality control, but we offer pickup and drop-off options.
